It’s great to discover new shops and meet inspirational people going out of their way to be helpful. Along with Lucy, my Hiya Bucks Amersham Editor, we enjoy seeking out ways to support and promote businesses who need a helping hand reaching out to their local community. Wanting my outfit to appeal to all budgets this month I thought about supporting a charity shop. I chose to visit the South Bucks Hospice shop in Beaconsfield knowing their fundraising (from the sale of donated clothes and accessories) goes towards the expert care they provide to local people with lifelimiting illnesses. Maybe one of you reading this will recognise these clothes as ones you have kindly donated to this shop. We had a lovely couple of hours trying on different outfits and Joan, the Retail Manager, told me she hadn’t had so much fun in ages. They have a great selection of beautiful clothes and I felt like I was in a high end store as opposed to a charity shop. Joan told me she struggles to get volunteer staff to help out in the Beaconsfield shop which is a shame. If I wasn’t so busy working on my magazines I would be tempted to apply. Bridget the shop Manager is lovely, and if you volunteer there you’ll get to see all the beautiful designer clothes before they make the rails. Take a look at my outfits on page 39, I couldn’t decide which one I preferred so I thought I would show them all to you. On a totally different note, I have a brand new regular feature for you – Your Health with Dr. Thakkar. I think this page will be very beneficial to our community, I hope you do too. Stay safe.
