Beaconsfield BARBECUE It seems like only yesterday I was writing about barbecue season and here we are (when the weather behaves) scrubbing the grill, checking the gas bottle or charcoal bag and writing a shopping list. I’m not going to give you the essentials, because you know what your barbecue “must-haves” already are, but simply highlight a few options that are a little different from your standard items. I love a good burger. No, that’s an understatement. I absolutely love great burgers. Check our meat counter as you may find our Wild Boar burger with shallots and creme fruit (120g) or, if you are a dab hand at smoking meat (which seems to be a popular past-time now), how about Free Range Pig Cheeks. Best cooked on a slow and low heat, so only try that if someone has the time and a smoker! Other burgers I can recommend are the Waitrose Chicken & Chorizo burger, which are delicious with some braised onions in a bun, or on a bed of Waitress Babyleaf salad. If you prefer chicken, try the Waitress Cajun Spiced chicken escalopes, which have a decent kick of spice. Other barbecue lines include Waitrose Teriyaki Chicken kebabs, honey mustard pork kebabs and even Waitrose British Chicken breast chunks in tikka marinade - which you can put on your own skewers with pieces of onion and yellow pepper. Vegetarians and those folks who prefer slightly less meat than, say, Desperate Dan, can try the Waitrose Vegetable and Halloumi skewers, Aubergine & Feta Every month this Waitrose branch has £1000 to donate burgers or Sweet Potato, Cheese to our nominated Charities, this is split in proportion and Onion burgers with harissa to our customers wishes.
