Migraines and Me I was eleven when I got my first migraine. This is my story about migraines and me. One thing I don’t think I’ve discussed much on this page is visiting a chiropractor. I try to go on a regular basis as I really think this helps with aches and pains. You may have seen some weird videos, or heard some scary experiences, as Chiropractors do like to crack your bones to relieve tension. Trust me, the treatment is worth it as afterwards you feel so much more relaxed. I have been for my migraines several times and I really think it helps to reduce the tension in my head. One thing I never considered having though is acupuncture as I have a major fear of needles. The Chiropractor I visit is a qualified acupuncturist. Several people have advised me to try this so I thought that if I am lying face down and I can’t actually see the needles maybe I can handle it. And I did handle it! I was so proud of myself and really pleased to have conquered my fear of acupuncture needles. I would advise anyone suffering with back/neck ache, headaches or migraines, like myself, to try this. It certainly relieves a huge amount of pain. It could even lead to you realising the cause of your aches and pains. I was once told a funny story about someone who had a headache every time after visiting a relative. It was as if the headache was in her weekly routine. She found out the headache was caused by a strain on her neck after sitting on a beanbag. Each time she visited her relative her head didn’t have any support from the beanbag so it strained her neck. It sounds so simple but since they changed their choice of chair they no longer had painful headaches. Let me know your stories, I’d love to hear them!
