My daughter Rachel decided this was the time to make a traditional Brazilian cake to celebrate; it looked amazing and it tasted delicious too. We have included the recipe in this month’s edition for you (see page 57). As she says, you will not be disappointed. Yesterday I was invited to attend a very special assembly at Holtspur School. The Gardening Club, run by Laura Barton, were presented with the Silver Gilt Award they recently won at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. This is an incredible achievement for them, something many exhibitors can only dream of. Well done to all involved. The schools will be breaking up soon for the summer and if you are lucky enough to be going on holiday feel free to write a review for us all to read on your return. This month we have a lovely review from Frances about her trip to Sorrento in Italy. Let’s hope the sun shines for all the wonderful local events we have taking place this month. Wherever possible please show your support at these local community fetes, musical evenings and celebrations.
