Why are CFRs so valuable and vital ?
In case of cardiac arrest , for every minute that passes without cardio-pulmonary resuscitation ( CPR ) and defibrillation , a patient ’ s chances of survival decreases by 14 %.
Community First Responders answer calls in their neighbourhood . The potential for them to arrive on the scene before an ambulance , especially in rural areas , is vital in providing immediate life-saving treatment . These extra minutes do help to save lives .
Who can become a CFR ?
Anyone . You do not need a medical background and there are Community First Responders from all walks of life . It is a flexible voluntary position that doesn ’ t have to involve shift work . You can volunteer for a few hours here and there to suit . email : info @ hiyabucks . com | www . hiyabucks . com 13
