What Lexie Loves...

Happy New Year! I know in January lots of people start
thinking about holidays and short breaks so I want to tell you
about a fantastic place.
Back in October, my family and I went to stay
at Watergate Bay Hotel, in Cornwall. My friend
had been a couple of months before, and she
absolutely loved it, and couldn’t stop talking
about it for days, so I was even more excited
to go.
We were staying in a family suite, which was
really nice because it gave us plenty of space,
with a room for my parents, and a separate
room with bunk beds and a TV for my siblings
and me. It had a really contemporary beach
feel and some really comfortable beds too
- normally hotel beds aren’t as comfy as at
home, but this actually came close!
After checking in and having a nice walk on
the beach, we headed up to the hotel and
decided to have a swim in their pool, much
to the delight of my siblings (who aren’t the
biggest on walking)!
The pool is very large
and beautiful, with huge
windows so we could
see the beach whilst
we swam. Also, the
temperature was just
perfect, warm from
the moment we got
in! There was also
a shallow area for
children who
aren’t strong
swimmers,
alongside the
main bit. Of course
we went back the
next day whilst my
mum was having
what she said was
‘honestly, the best
massage ever’.
The food there was
delicious, especially
12
breakfast. There were a range of
so many yummy foods: crispy
bacon, eggs, bagels (and a
cool bagel-slicer to go with it),
sausages, a range of pastries,
cereal and my favourite of them
all, a make-your-own waffle
machine, which created simply
delicious waffles! Needless
to say, I didn’t get the chance
to try all of this, much to my
disappointment!
We had lunch at the Beach Hut,
where I had a chicken burger, after
having a really fun surfing lesson
(my first ever), where I actually
learnt how to surf. The instructor
was really helpful, and the whole
experience was so fun and
exhilarating – I absolutely LOVED it!
On the second night, we were
going to a Kids’ Club. Due to our
previous experiences with
