Letter from the Editor
There are a couple of well-known dates on the calendar in February , the first one being Valentine ’ s Day and the second being Shrove Tuesday .
We ’ ve got a really good recipe featured this month for Valentine ’ s Day , or any day for that matter . We ’ ve been lucky enough to eat this on many occasion and it really is very tasty indeed . If you are stuck for a gift for your loved one look no further than the supermarket shelves to stock up on the ingredients for this recipe , they ’ ll be forever grateful .
Shrove Tuesday , or Pancake Day as we like to call it , isn ’ t particularly special in our house . The reason for this being that we have pancakes all year round , so having them on Pancake Day doesn ’ t hold the same excitement . Any excuse to have pancakes and we are there ; banana pancakes for breakfast ( no flour used in these so perfect for those of you who follow a gluten free diet ) savoury pancakes for dinner ( chicken and mushroom are our favourite ) or lemon and sugar pancakes for dessert . Pancakes really are such a versatile thing , they are so quick to make , although when you have to cook about 50 as I do it can take a while . No sooner have I dished one up when someone else pipes up “ me next ”.
I must have cooked thousands of pancakes over the years !

P . S . I am super excited to tell you I shall not be cooking pancakes this year on 28th February but watching Levison Wood ( Walking the Americas ) instead at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre . Anyone else going ?
