Restaurant Review If you are looking to eat authentic Italian homemade food, then look no further than this little restaurant in Wooburn Green. Centrally located in the village, the restaurant looks very inviting with its inside/outside decking and sprawling grapevine over the entrance. The bi-folding doors give Dolce a light and bright feel and a warm welcome from Pasq is always waiting. Once inside you’ll be surprised by the contemporary styling and sepia images adorning the walls. But let’s talk about the food, and we’ve got a lot to say! Following Pasq’s lead (he’s the owner) we shared the Spaghetti con Gamberi Anchovies to start. This isn’t something we would usually order with anchovies being quite salty, but it was delicious. Pasq explained that during the cooking process the anchovies break down (not literally) and create an extremely tasty sauce to accompany the tiger prawns, cherry tomatoes, white wine, chilli, spinach and rocket. Honestly, please try this because we absolutely loved it! This was followed by a pizza of two halves, one being Pizza di Busso and the other Pizza di Santino – I just couldn’t decide which one to order so that problem was solved, I had them both. Once again, very delicious, and very filling. Washed down with excellent Italians wines (you won’t find any other nation’s wine on the menu) we took time to take in the atmosphere and admire the styling of the restaurant. It really is quite unique. Despite our tummies being full we did manage to just about sample the artisan pistachio ice cream. Very green, but oh so tasty. The prices are reasonable with pizzas starting at just £9.95. Established in 2009, we have watched this restaurant grow and grow. There is plenty of free parking to the rear of the restaurant and the hospitality is true to form of Italians with cheeky chat and plenty of friendly banter. We know how hard it is to run your own business and Pasq has done so well with Dolce. Days off are all too few so for the first two weeks of January the restaurant closes so the staff can have some rest and relaxation. COMING SOON an invitation to a tasting evening Details to follow.
