As Christmas approaches
my club has been looking
back
on
the
years’
achievements. We’ve had
our best year yet at the
Chelsea
Flower
Show,
winning two Silver Gilt
medals, a first for us.
We have taken part in
the RHS Seeds in Space
programme with Major Tim
Peake and harvested some
great fruit from our orchard.
Our final task of the year
was one myself and Holtspur School were
especially proud of, and the Gardening
Club were my Guinea pigs to see if it
could be done. Each and every child in
the school created a handmade poppy for
Armistice day. In a special assembly led by
our vicar Narinder, and attended by Dick
Smith, Beaconsfield’s Town Crier and the
British Legion Chairman,
alongside the Rev’d Dr
Jeremy Brooks, we laid
them in the garden by
our greenhouse. In total,
over 200 poppies. We
think they have created a
very poignant display to
remember all our service
men and women. We
hope you agree.
Finally, I would like to
wish all our readers a
very Happy Christmas
and thank you for supporting us. A special
thank you as always goes to Mr & Mrs
Chapman and the residents of Kiln Court,
and to all the staff at Beaconsfield Garden
Centre who without their support we
couldn’t achieve so much.
Happy Gardening
