Letter from the Editor
Happy Birthday to Hiya Bucks!
Can you believe the 1st August 2018 marks our 5th
birthday. I’ve managed to achieve quite a lot I think over
the last 5 years.
Firstly, the magazines are a huge success, thanks to you
MY READERS, as well as all my CONTRIBUTORS who
supply me with, more often than not, exclusive articles.
The business wouldn’t be running if it wasn’t for my loyal
ADVERTISERS so a massive thanks to them as well. And
finally a huge thank you to Julia, my graphic designer, for
being so amazing!
When I originally set up the business I had no idea what
I was doing. I’m not entirely sure I know what I am doing
now, but feedback I get from my readers is that they
love the magazines and look forward to sitting down and
having a read.
This year the business is diversifying. Don’t worry, the
magazines aren’t going anywhere.
Now I have my daughter Natalie supporting me and
running the website for me. She has taken over the
majority of my social media, which has definitely brought
it into the 21st century! We have been able to create
Buckinghamshire Cards & Gifts – although still in its
infancy – with greetings cards featuring wonderful views
of Buckinghamshire for sale. We shall also be producing
a 2019 Calendar (see page 41).
Our next step is to create an Ecommerce Shop. This
means that the artisan businesses we support (Buy of
the Month) will be able to sell their products directly from
our website. It’s all very exciting.
If you are running your own business you can’t afford
to sit still or else your competitors will take over. With all
the contacts I have made over the years Hiya Bucks can
assist you with any aspect of your business. All you need
to do is ask, it’s all part of the service.
