Beaconsfield Waitrose Wine Recommendations for Easter Sunday Following on from last month’s article about our Wine Specialist Neale Jefferies, this month we have recommendations from Neale’s Product Advisors Emma Marshall and Richard Allen. During 2013 Neale assisted Emma and Richard in completing their Level 2 City and Guilds Wine Product Advisor Diplomas. This has given them a broader understanding of the world wine regions, different wine styles and flavours. So, for Easter this year, Emma will be enjoying a cold dressed poached salmon (from Waitrose Entertaining). Her wine of choice is the Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc, £16.99. The grapes in this wine are sourced from four different vineyard sites in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley. Each site adds its own character and personality to the blend, giving an intense aroma of lemongrass and lime, with elderflower. On the palate is a cocktail of white peach, gooseberry and an intense long citrus, herbal, mineral finish. Brown Brothers orange flora Muscat as an accompaniment, £6.99. This wine is unique to Brown Brothers, the orange Muscat has the aroma and palate of orange marmalade and the flora adds colour and texture. Why not pop into our store on Thursdays and Fridays when we like to open an unusual bottle or new line for you to try! We’d welcome the opportunity of sharing our wine knowledge with you.
