‘we love chocolate’ shop. The lady who
owns the store drives into Belgium every
once in a while to pick up chocolates from
a specific factory where she oversees them
being made. Cupcakes and donut shaped
chocolates with a hard outside and creamy
centre are sold there and I’ve got to say
they are incredible! She allows customers
to have tasters, so even if you don’t want
to buy any, just go and taste! There’s also a
huge church right in the middle of the town
centre. It’s free to enter but they do take
donations. It’s so beautiful inside and out.
You must take a look around!
Roosendaal
Roosendaal is a very small town with nice
houses and big open roads that are easy
to drive along (no pot holes!). It is a very
friendly town with lots of bars and a few
nice restaurants. It’s a place you can visit if
you would like some peace and quiet and
time to relax!
Rotterdam
A new place I found in Rotterdam is
‘Markthal’, in English it would be market
hall. It’s a wonderful building, in a kind of
horse shoe shape with apartments in the
horse shoe, then a number of food stalls
in the middle. They have all sorts, from
chips to cakes to hog roasts. It is similar to
Borough market in London if you’ve ever
been there. The food is cheap, you can
have little tasters of things for about £1 or
you can order large meals. A few stalls have
upstairs so you could actually sit down and
see the market from above. Please don’t
walk around here if you are on a diet or
trying to lose weight because it will throw
that out of the window!
dress clothes and accessories in my entire
life! It’s called Karnevalswierts. You can find
any kind of outfit you are looking for to go
to a party in there. I kind of wish it was my
wardrobe!
Amsterdam
Amsterdam has wonderful canals with lights
on the bridge. It has funky coffee houses
and little shops. It is a very touristy place
if I’m honest, a variation in cultures and
nationalities. The restaurants are mostly
pizzerias! It’s good fun for a couple of
days there but I think if you are to visit The
Netherlands then you should explore the
country a lot more. If you’re looking for
somewhere to eat breakfast when you stay
there I would suggest ‘La Grotte’ they do
a nice English breakfast as well as toasted
sandwiches. It’s a little bit of a walk from
the train station but maybe worth it if
you’re hungry! The only issue is if you don’t
want to leave smelling of smoke then don’t
enter because there is an allowance to
smoke indoors with all windows and doors
closed. So beware of that in Amsterdam!
Heerlen
Now if you’re looking for a fancy dress
shop you need to visit Heerlen! I’ve never
seen anything so huge and crazy with fancy
