It’s full steam ahead in the greenhouse now and the shelves are filling up nicely. We have
been sowing a wide variety of seeds for the Chelsea Flower Show, broad beans, purple
carrots (Prince Charles’ favourite variety, so I’m told), chard, sweetcorn, nasturtiums and
sweet peas. And they are all growing well. So far so good.
Outside the vegetable beds are primed and ready for action and the children are eagerly
awaiting the first shoots to appear.
This year in my gardening gang I have a fabulous new group of Yr 3 children who are really
keen and always willing to get stuck in. Fingers crossed they will get the gardening bug and
stay with me, as my loyal Yr 6’s, some
of whom have been with me since the
club started, leave this September and
there will be a huge gap to fill.
Here are some of them monitoring the
growth of their Chelsea Nasturtiums!
I’m off now to de clutter my shed at
home, you know the sort of thing, take
it all out, decide to keep it, and put it
all back in.
