Hitch Fit Living Magazine Volume 6 - May/June 2016 | Page 3
I recently received a message from a woman who saw one
of our Hitch Fit transformations. She was so impressed by
the changes she saw in the before and after pictures. She
could relate to the story that this client shared. Her
starting point was similar, she was unhappy and didn't
feel well. She expressed to me how much she wanted this
for herself. She wanted to feel better, to be healthier, to
love what she saw in the mirror, to increase her
confidence and be able to walk into a room without
feeling like hiding.
All great stuff. And a common message that we hear on a
regular basis. But then in the next paragraph she began
telling me all of the things she was not willing to do, and
changes she was not willing to make.
She let me know that she had no time for exercise, that she was too busy and too tired to do that. And
that she wasn't willing to eat foods that she thought were gross like vegetables and lean proteins. She
also wasn't willing to give up most of her current eating habits.
She wanted change, but didn't want to make change. She wanted the results without the hard work and
discipline that it takes to achieve those results. This got me thinking of how big a difference there is
between wanting something, and then wanting it ENOUGH to actually take the action to achieve it.
Many people WANT to be fit, to be healthy, to be confident and energetic. I haven't met many, if any,
people in my life who didn't want these things for themselves. But I HAVE met many who want them,
but aren't actually willing to take the steps to achieve them.
I had to be honest with the lady who messaged me. I'll never tell people that transformation is easy,
quick or doesn't require changes to current habits. It takes action, it takes discipline and diligence. The
rewards for those things are immeasurable. The "after" picture is just the icing on the cake.
"Knowing is not enough. Willing is not enough; we must do."
