3. Garlic:~ Uses of garlic are many! Mash or mince one clove of garlic daily, and eat it raw or lightly cooked. Add garlic to almost anything for heightened flavor--beef, ground turkey, chicken, vegetables! In the bottom of a salad bowl, rub a clove of garlic to release the flavor and aroma of garlic in your lettuce greens salad. Garlic is a diuretic, antiseptic, and has cleansing properties. It is used to relieve a wide range of health problems, such as bronchitis, colic, and digestive issues. 4. Peppermint: PPeppermint is a strong tasting mint-a small amount will season foods! Peppermint contains menthol, which leaves a very fresh taste in your mouth! Many teas are made of peppermint leaves. Peppermint leaves can be added to hot and cold soups, and used in curries, chutneys, and sauces. Mint's essential oil flavors chewing gum, chocolate, and other things like toothpaste and lip balm. Using mint leaves in a big glass of iced tea in the summertime is especially refreshing! and pretty, too! Peppermint essence contains up to 92% menthol. It is believed to alleviate gall bladder problems, stomach and digestive problems, and to be an expectorant. In small doses, peppermint promotes sleep. 5. Italian Parsley: Italian Parsley is best used when it's fresh, however it can be dried, frozen, or marinated. Add parsley to salads, sandwich fillings, such as a chicken salad, or even omelets.
