Your Muscles! MADE TO MOVE!

Jumping, running, swimming, biking, climbing, twirling and skipping! What do all of these things have in common?
First, they are all fun! Second, they are all types of exercise, and third, each of these activities requires you to use your
muscles!
Muscles are what make it possible for you to move your body. If you didn’t have muscles you wouldn’t be able to move
at all! When your muscles are strong and in good shape, it makes it so you can do things such as running, swimming,
jumping or playing sports and games more easily.
There are over 600 muscles located right within your body! These muscles come in three different types. Did you know
that your heart is a muscle? That’s right! It is called a cardiac muscle. You don’t have control over this type of muscle, it
works without you even thinking about it! Your body also has smooth muscle. Just like your heart, these muscles work
completely on their own! Your stomach has smooth muscles in it, and so do your eyes! The third and most familiar type
