A STORY SHORT Yesterday I forgot a story. So I went straight out and gave my supper to a beggar. Now of course, this will strike fools as foolish and wise men as wise. A fool eats his last potatoe. A wise man plants it. Apart from which, everybody knows beggars are never what they seem. There was a time, you see, when I myself had to beg. A bad time. Abitter cold, when a great hunger was on the land and only the rich had bellies.
