VIRIATO
Viriato was one of the most honourable Lusitanian military leaders, born somewhere between the Douro and the Tagus rivers. Living in the mountain made him a skilled warrior. Therefore, around 147 BC he became the leader of the usitanians against the Roman army. and so did rome ´ s policy. As the new governor didn ´ t agree with the treaty between Rome and Viriato, he abolished it. The struggle went on but rome ´ s victory was far to reach. To speed-up its ending Viriato was murder by three of his fellows who had been bribbed by Rome.
