O
ne can see from the various usages of this word “season” that
many times we have prematurely rejoiced when the declaration
came forth that it is our season, without getting a full understanding of what is being said.
It is IMPERITIVE THAT WE LEARN WHAT SEASON WE ARE IN. As a
minister of the gospel, an Apostle, an Overseer, and Spiritual Mother to
many, I cringe at the idea that many are MISSING THEIR SEASON because they have improperly defined where they are in God! The moment someone declares, “IT IS MY SEASON” we hastily assume that we
are about to come into supernatural abundance and favor, wealth and
riches, prosperity and blessings, and all the exciting things that make
us want to run around the church. However, if you are in proper alignment with God’s timing, you will realize that seasons come and go, but
that we are charged to preach the gospel both in and out of season. In
fact, since we have carefully examined what the secular definition of a
season, let’s see what the Word of God says concerning seasons.
Ecclesiastes 3 “To everything there is a season, and a time to every
purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time
to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill,
and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;”
Psalm 1:3 “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
Deuteronomy 28:12 “The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure,
the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all
the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and
thou shalt not borrow.”
Deuteronomy 11:14 “That I will give you the rain of your land in his
