Finding The Will To

Trust Again

You have gone through it, we all have. I am talking about the seemingly never ending circle of trial and doubt. There are times when it seems as if life is throwing everything and the kitchen sink at you. These are the times when we kneel down to pray, and there are no words. In times like this, our faith and trust in God might waver a bit. This is when we need to find the will to trust again.

DIMINISHING TRUST

Having our faith shaken, is a very human response to issues and problems. I have heard and read a lot of christian ministers and speakers, teach that it is a sin to have our faith be shaken. However, I disagree with that. If we ever get to a place where our faith is not shaken, we will be perfect. Only God is perfect - we are not. Even the bible has recorded instances of great men and women of God, who went through periods of time when they felt sorely tested and their faith was shaken.

Abraham & Sarah: At different times, both Abraham and Sarah, doubted that God’s promise would come through in their lives. In Genesis 17:17-22, Abraham laughed asking “Will a son be born to a man of a hundred years?...”, and he asked God to fulfill the promise with Ishmael. In Genesis 18:10-15, when the angels came to visit, Sarah laughed in doubt.
