Hip Hop Times Volume 7 July 2020 | Page 9

HHT: If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Lu Lu: To take us woman Mc's more serious. Not bait us against each other. Its enough out here for everyone to eat.

HHT: How important is it for you to use Hip-Hop to send a message?

Lu Lu: It's very important in Hip Hop, the culture is my people, my upbringing that's all I know. So to send out a message to my folks is a blessing.

HHT: So what really happened with you and Federal District Records?

Lu Lu: Lord have mercy!!!! Federal District. Ill start off by saying it wasn't all bad. Things started off pretty good but then went a bit left. We began not to see eye 2 eye both personal and business. I live by this saying "If You Stand For Nothing You'll Fall For Anything" and I really just wasn't wit the shits just too much drama. I had to separate myself and move on and grow.

HHT: Well what’s next for you?

Lu Lu: Just transitioning out my last situation, get back to being independent as an artist. No longer under a label or somebodies umbrella. I'm the 1st Lady of my damn self. So many different opportunities and good people coming into my life and I'm just blessed. After a year my single "Just Listen" released on July 2, 2020 on all major streaming platforms. So make sure you download that and stay tuned.
