The origins of Hinduism due to approximately 2000 BCE, when a civilisation developed in northwest India in the area of the Indus River, now Pakistan. The knowledge of the religous beliefs and practices of these people comes feom the figurines and engraves seals found by archeologists in the 1920s’s. While no one has yet deciphered the writing on the seals, much has been learned from the images engraved on them.
