How Karen Abercrombie Got the Role of“ Miss Clara” in the Movie, WAR ROOM

WAR ROOM is a phenomenal movie that will no doubt continue to bear much fruit. Its message is timeless, relevant and needed now more than ever. Bringing this film from conception to birth was a monumental project. A well-written script and production that combined all of the right elements--working in perfect harmony to produce a high impact film--brings tears of joy to all who love it when God is lifted up for all the world to see. Yet, there were some bumps along the way.

Weeks before the Kendrick Brothers were to begin filming“ WAR ROOM”, they had successfully put together an impressive lineup of both acclaimed and up-and-coming actors and actresses— with one exception. The person with the qualities they needed for the role of Miss Clara had been harder than expected to find. If they had not been praying men, with so much on the line the Kendrick Brothers might have been tempted to settle and not wait to find the person they knew was out there but had yet to be revealed to them. But experience told them to wait, and just as God had prepared a ram in the bush for Abraham, He had done the same for WAR ROOM. Long before the movie was written or the cast assembled, God had already begun preparing one for the role of Miss Clara in the person of Karen Abercrombie.
Each role was necessary for the evolution of the story. Yet, the role of Miss Clara was critical as messenger that prayer, and a place to do battle, is necessary for spiritual warfare. So, Karen had to bring her“ A” game
