H
ello HimPower Family, we are
doing something different this
month. Yes we are! We are getting
our Bibles out to follow through
this article. We often misuse the word integ-
rity defined as; “the quality of being honest and
having strong moral principles; moral upright-
ness.” As Christians it can be challenging
living in a rapidly evolving world; new laws,
new regulations, new environment, almost
everything gets rebranded to accept the
“new normal”. But the question is, where
do we draw the line between integrity and
moral deception? Let us review the story of
Joseph in the book of Genesis Chapter 37.
The Bible tells us in verse 3 that Joseph’s
Master (Potiphar) saw that everything
Joseph did flourished because the Lord was
with Joseph. Does this speak volume to us,
no matter where we find ourselves people
can easily identify with us and what we
stand for.
Let’s keep reading because some-
thing happened in verses 4-8, Potiphar was
pleased with Joseph and made Joseph a
supervisor. Potiphar left all that he had in
Joseph’s charge. However, Potiphar’s wife
tried to lure Joseph into committing sexual
sin and he refused. She lied against Joseph
and he was put in the prison, nonetheless
Joseph kept his integrity and was made a
leader by the prison warden. We can read
more about Joseph’s beautiful journey from
the verses afterwards. As you read through
Chapter 37 ask yourself these questions:
• Do I hide my true identity?
• Do I play two sides depending on who
is around me?
• Can people trust me?
• Do I speak evil about others?
• Who am I when no one is watching?
I want to encourage you to live a life
of integrity “For the LORD God is a sun and
shield; The LORD will give grace and glory; No
good thing will He withhold; From those who
walk uprightly.” (Psalm 84:11 NKJV). We can
learn to live a worthy life of integrity by:
• Thinking through each step with the
Word of God.
• Following the right procedures.
• Answering every question with God’s
word.
• Planning our life with discernment and
discretion through the help of the Holy
Spirit.
