trying to accomplish fame in my own mind.
I had this timeline of when I had to find
success in this area or that: Cover Girl by
22, married by 25, kids before I'm 30 and
then a real job sometime after that. None of
those things happened in the order I had
prescribed for myself. Odds are, your "to-do"
list might not have gone as planed, either.
But, you know what... that's ok!
As I am getting more and more
comfortable in my "after 22" years, I find
that God did not limit our dreams to
youthful wonder. Absolutely not. Scripture
tells us that He is the "Ancient of Days", yet
in His unfathomable wisdom and stature,
He is the ultimate creator and dreamer. I
mean, just consider yourself! You are God's
dream come true!!!
Every laugh you breathe is a fulfillment
of God's dream for you. Every hope in your
heart and each measure of faith you take- it
all points to His heart for you! His desire is
to give us an abundant life, filled with trea-
sures that the scripture calls "the Fruit of the
Spirit".
"For the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentle-
ness and self-control. Against such things there is
no law" Galatians 5:22-23
God desires to dwell within you
and produce greatness through you. He
desires to fulfill all of His promises over
you and crown your life with His love. He
isn't disappointed that you aren't in your
career path yet, or that you aren't married
or that you struggle in one area of life or
another. No. God is pleased when He looks
at you, because He knows exactly where
He is taking you! He invites us to explore
His love, because He is the Creator of all
things... even our most intimate dreams!
Our hopes and dreams are a reflection
of the God who loves us! We must never stop
dreaming because to do so would be to stop
living! I find that, in my more mature phase
of life, I am wiser to put more action behind
my dreams, rather than aimlessly ponder
over them without a plan. It's fun to imagine
but more productive to take action! Let your
dreams be your motivation to create your
own happiness! This is honoring to the Lord,
as He has instructed us to be good stewards
of everything He has given us!
"God has given each of you a gift from His
great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to
serve one another." 1 Peter 4:10
Don’t be afraid of what lies dormant
within you! Your hopes and dreams are
treasures from Heaven, and you have the
God of the universe behind you! You can do
all things through Christ… so, dream a little
dream, darling! Imagine, believe and cover
all the possibilities in prayer!
