E
aster Sunday and the events leading
up to the resurrection of our Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ, take on spe-
cial significance for us each year at
HimPower Magazine. If you have read The
HimPower Story on our website, you can see
why Christ is at the center of everything we
do in HimPower. We are humbled by all He
has done, all He is doing and the glimpse of
what we see Him doing in the future. It is in
Him that we move and have our being. And
because He has not given us a spirit of fear,
we move forward in the face of every adver-
sity. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear,
but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2
Timothy 1:7
No one welcomes adversity, but who
are we to be exempt from it. Christ faced
adversity at every turn. Despite this, He
persevered because He knew the source
of His power, the power of prayer and His
purpose. He was clear about His mission
on earth to teach the Kingdom of God and
save the lost. He never failed to reach out to
the unsaved, teaching, feeding and healing
them and even raising up the dead to bring
glory to God. Throughout His pilgrimage
on earth, Christ was ever mindful to do the
will of His Father. When doubted by His
disciples, called out by His critics and aban-
doned on Calvary by the One who loved
Him most, he accepted the calling on His
life with gratitude and thanksgiving as an
example to each of us. Even when He asked
if the cup could pass from Him, He yielded
to the will of God. “Saying, Father, if thou be
willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless
not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42
KJV
As we study the Word and learn about
the life of Christ, it becomes clearer with
each challenge and each victory that when
we are willing to be obedient to the Word of
God, the Ways of God and the Will of God,
we are destined to receive the abundance
in life that He has promised to each and
every one of us. “Trust in the LORD with all
thine heart; and lean not unto thine own under-
standing. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and
he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
As you reflect on the life of Christ and
purpose of the Lenten season, think of what
you need to give up that ensnares your
flesh and places strongholds on your life,
preventing you from hearing and receiving
heavenly instructions to live your best life in
Him and for Him. It’s a journey we must all
take if we truly want to receive His blessings
for an abundant life He has promised. “For I
know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith
the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil,
to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call
upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and
I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me,
and find me, when ye shall search for me with all
your heart.” Jeremiah 29:11-13
