From Homeless to Simply Victorious Ministries
Never Say Never: Conquering the Storms of Life with Steadfast Faith
by Jennifer Workman
I
f homelessness is a prerequisite to honing
your writing and storytelling skills from
life’s disappointments, then Tyler Perry
won’t be the only successful screenwriter
with this unintended experience as a footnote to their resume. Meet Jennifer Workman,
founder of “Simply Victorious Ministries”, who
is pursuing a career as a screenwriter. Workman has written a number of scripts including “Be Careful What You Ask For,” “Egyptian
Silk,” “Power Over Darkness” and others,
some of which are being considered for production. While Perry has found his niche in
conveying life’s lessons in comedy, Workman
takes a markedly more serious approach. And
although Perry and Workman have each experienced enough heartbreak to last a life time,
8 HimPower August 2015
their paths diverge in style and substance.
Perry relies on laughter, Workman on scripture.
The sole purpose of Simply Victorious Ministries, according to Workman, “is to
utilize every spiritual gift endowed by the
power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the "Great
Commission" (Matthew 28:16-20, NIV). Her
ministry has been established on the infallible
word of God and to humbly and passionately
serve the needs of hurting and lost people all
around the world. Workman said, “My aim for
the ministry is to be a globally recognizable
‘voice’ that ministers to people from different
walks of life and to empower, to inspire and
to motivate people towards a fuller and richer
life that is found in relationship with God.”
