POWER FOR PROSPERITY Rev. Chris Oarhe www.facebook.com/revchrisoarhe www.twitter.com/revoarhe www.youtube.com/thehilltopicc PARTNERSHIP in the body of Christ can be defined as working together with the body of Christ to accomplish together what we could never do alone as individuals. Partnership is a well established principle on God's word. It comes from the Greek word “koinonia” which means “partnership, a sharer, an associate” with others in ministry. Partnership is not a means of extorting money from you; it is a covenant that transports you into the realm of divine wealth. You need to engage in partnership, for your situation to change for the better, you need to get fully involved in His covenant. Philippians 1: 3-5 (NIV) “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now”. Paul goes on to explain how biblical partnership allows each partner to share in the same grace that God has given the ministry they partner with. Philippians 1:7 “ Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace”. God's grace primarily refers to His divine enablements (knowledge, wisdom, favor, gifts, anointing and endurance, etc). Many years ago, in my university days as a student as well as after school, I partnered with local and international ministries. Today, the grace I enjoy upon my life and ministry is vividly reflecting the value of my partnership. The instruction to challenge members to go into partnership in this ministry particularly for our media programs came from God just before the convention in 2013. God laid a scripture on my heart from 1 kings 17:9 God had spoken to the widow of zarephat to partner with Elijah. The widow had just a handful of meal in a barrel and a little oil in a cruise left to survive on with her son. 3 Ye t s h e dared to obey the prophet by overcoming her f e a r s . T h i s characteristic, fear is applicable to many of us. We are often afraid to trust God with our finances because we are scared that it will run out and we'd be left w i t h o u t provisions for the rest of our needs; but when you obey His word and put Him first, He takes over the responsibility of caring for you. The widow's obedience to divine instruction by partnering with the prophet provoked a season of sustainable abundance. Philippians 4:19 was written to Paul's partners. These partners gave to his ministry on a regular basis. Paul confirmed that in 1 Corinthians 16:2 (KJV) “ upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come”. The partners Paul talked about where systematic and deliberate givers. The reason God prospers you is so that you can establish His kingdom on earth, when you do this, He will provide a supernatural divine flow that will meet all your needs. As you obey God's covenant of partnership, Dr. Stephanie and I are asking God to make the rest of 2014, the greatest season of prosperity that you are yet to experience.
