Ink tank printers
have an Achilles heel !
with Jeff Harper Cartridge World Castle Hill
I have mentioned before that ink jet printers don ’ t like to be not used regularly and not just because they have an inflated ego . Short story , the ink on the face of the printhead dries up and you have to do printhead cleans to get them going .
Well , after having quite a few of these new ink tank style printers ( the ones that use bottles not cartridges ) come in to be fixed I discovered their design flaw .
If not used regularly , not only does the printhead dry out but the ink in the microscopic tubes they use to transport the ink from the tank to the head dry out . This results in lots of dry ink residue residing in the tubes and no end of head cleaning will fix the issue .
So , what is to be done ? For any ink printer you have to use it regularly . If you feel that there are a few weeks between printing , then cut out the colour wheel I have attached to this article , slip it into the photocopier glass and from time to time press ‘ copy colour ’ on your printer .
That should keep everything nice and fresh !!

Age Pension - how do I
check my eligibility ?
with Rebecca Chester Age Pension Help
Recently there were updates to the Age Pension rates and eligibility tests , which means there are a number of older Australians who have just become eligible for a part pension . Maybe that includes you ?
If you previously checked the eligibility requirements or applied for the Age Pension , but weren ’ t eligible , every April , July and October is the time to check again . The full pension tests are usually only reviewed in July each year , but the tests for partial pensions are indexed twice a year , in late March and late September , which usually results in an increase in the cut off limits .
The recent updates on March 20 mean that homeowners with assets less than $ 634,750 for a single person , and $ 954,000 for a couple are now eligible . And those earning less than $ 2,318 per fortnight for a single person or $ 3,544 for a couple , not including any work bonus , will receive a part pension . The part
pension also makes you eligible for the Pension Concession Card , which provides a raft of discounts from Federal and State governments .
‘ How do I check on my eligibility ?’, you might ask . Centrelink has an online calculator , or you can call me at Age Pension Help , and I can do a quick check over the phone . This is the first and most important step in my application service which aims to take the uncertainty , wasted time , hassle and stress out of applying for the Age Pension or Commonwealth Seniors Health Card .
The best time to get your application in is as soon as possible ! The pension is not back dated to the date you became eligible , just to the date you applied . Call me today , 1300 222 484 .
