In a world often marked by division, conflict and uncertainty, Norwest and Ngarra Christian Colleges remain committed to building a community grounded in faith, unity and belonging. Central to this commitment is a deep belief that every person is created with purpose, dignity and worth— a truth reflected in the Latin term Imago Dei, meaning“ Image of God.”

As described in Genesis 1:27, Imago Dei reminds us that all people are created in God’ s likeness. This belief shapes how we see ourselves, how we treat one another, and how we understand our

place in God’ s world. At Norwest and Ngarra, it underpins our approach to education and community life, reinforcing that every child, family and staff member belongs— regardless of background, culture or life story.

This year, the Colleges embraced the theme“ We can all be a part of God’ s Big Family.” It is a message especially relevant in today’ s climate, where brokenness, sin, division and war can feel overwhelming. Through this theme, we intentionally celebrated God’ s peace and the unity we are called to live out as His people, inspired by Galatians 3:28:“ There is

neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”

On Tuesday, 31 March, students from the Early Learning Centre through to Year 12 brought this message to life during Imago Day. Students arrived dressed in cultural attire or wearing the colours of their nation’ s flags, transforming the school grounds into a vibrant display of colour, heritage and story. Throughout the day, students were invited to experience cultures from around the world through food, with opportunities to purchase and sample a wonderful variety of global

flavours. These shared moments fostered connection, curiosity and appreciation for the diversity that strengthens our community.

More than a celebration, Imago Day is a moment to pause and reflect. At Norwest and Ngarra Christian Colleges, we intentionally set aside this day each year to reaffirm a foundational truth: every person is made in the image of God and is part of His family.
