As we welcome the March 2026 edition of the Hills District Independent, I’ m reminded once again of what makes our region so special— the people, the passion, and the incredible sense of community that continues to thrive across the Hills.
This month’ s magazine highlights the many ways our community is growing, evolving and supporting one another. From celebrating our seniors through the upcoming Seniors Festival, to recognising inspiring young leaders like our Hills Youth Ambassadors, it’ s clear that every generation plays a vital role in shaping the future of our district.
We’ re also seeing exciting progress in local infrastructure, with new sporting fields taking shape at Fred Caterson Reserve. These projects are essential in supporting our rapidly growing population and ensuring our families, clubs and young athletes have the
HDI facilities they need to stay active and connected.
At the same time, our local events calendar continues to shine. Whether it’ s the return of the iconic Hawkesbury Show, community fundraisers like the Pink Tie Ball, or the many cultural, sporting and social gatherings taking place across the region, these moments bring people together and strengthen the fabric of our community.
As always, I would like to thank our loyal readers, advertisers and contributors. Your support allows us to continue sharing the stories that matter and championing the people, businesses and organisations that make the Hills such a wonderful place to live.
