and pick-up areas, landscaped green spaces, and the vibrant‘ care arcade’, a hub planned to include retail, cafés and familyfriendly services for visitors.
Designed to support the growing healthcare needs of Northwest Sydney, the Rouse Hill Hospital has now progressed to a State Significant Development Application( SSDA), which is currently on public exhibition. Community members can review the detailed proposal and submit feedback until 11.59pm on Wednesday, 10 December via the NSW Planning Portal.
Over coming weeks, the public will have several opportunities to engage in consultation sessions and learn more about the project.
The Hospital will deliver on services the community has long called for, services previously missing from the former Liberal plans, including an Emergency Department, birthing services and rehabilitation facilities.
The final scope of the Rouse Hill
Hospital is expected to include:
• Emergency Department and primary access clinic
• Comprehensive birthing services and maternity inpatient unit
• Inpatient beds and day surgery
• Short stay medical assessment services
• Pathology, pharmacy and medical imaging
• Outpatient and ambulatory services including paediatrics and renal dialysis
• Virtual care and hospitalin-the-home services
• Prehabilitation, rehabilitation and lifestyle medicine
A multi storey car park and future-proofed design ensure the campus can grow with increasing demand, backed by an additional $ 210 million investment from both NSW and Commonwealth Governments to enhance maternity and birthing services.
An early works contractor is expected to be appointed in the coming months, preparing the site for construction.
Attorney General and Federal Member for Greenway Michelle Rowland commented,“ I am delighted that families in Northwest Sydney are now one step closer to having the high quality public hospital they deserve, close to home. I look forward to the Albanese and Minns Labor Governments continuing to work together to deliver the best quality health services to support our growing community.”
Member for Riverstone Warren Kirby also added,“ Having the SSDA on public exhibition is a clear indication the Minns Labor Government is going to deliver the Rouse Hill Hospital after more than a decade of false promises and fake sod turnings under the Liberals which did nothing more than make our community frustrated and cynical.”
“ This is a tangible step forward and the final step before construction begins. I congratulate the Minister for Health for his commitment to provide Sydney’ s North West Growth area with a healthcare facility designed to meet the needs of our growing population.”
