Overdevelopment at it’ s worst!
with Ray Williams MP
Over 60,000 new homes were built in The Hills Shire over the past 100 years. The new plans by the Minns Labor Government insist that we grow by that amount again- but over the next 5 years. This is an absurd 88 % surge in housing- without any increase in basic infrastructure.
In our area, infrastructure such as the Metro, Windsor and Old Windsor Rd, Showground Rd and Memorial Dr were all implemented by the previous Liberal Government to satisfy the needs of our growing area; together with various new primary and high schools which are now unfortunately well over capacity.
New plans for a massive increase to 20- 30 storey apartment blocks will increase traffic gridlock and degrade our quality of life. The current traffic congestion on Windsor Rd on any given day of the week suggests this plan represents an abhorrent increase in development that is completely unsustainable and should not be accepted by our community.
We are currently supporting the campaign,‘ Fight for a Fairer Hills Shire’ and asking residents to log on to fairerhillsfuture. com. au to make a short submission regarding traffic gridlock and further development in our area. I am encouraging everyone to take advantage of this opportunity so the matter can be debated in the NSW Parliament.

Nominate a local volunteer
with Mark Hodges MP
Volunteers are the backbone of our community, selflessly giving their time and energy to support others. Whether it’ s helping at local events, providing essential services, or supporting vulnerable groups, volunteers make a difference every day. Now is the time to recognise those who make a lasting impact by nominating them for the 2025 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards.
|
This award program, run by The Centre for Volunteering, celebrates the dedication of volunteers across seven categories: Young Volunteer, Adult Volunteer, Senior Volunteer, Volunteer Team, Emergency Volunteer, Volunteer Leader, and the Not-for-Profit Voluntary Governance Award.
Nominate someone who exemplifies the spirit of volunteering and has shown exceptional commitment to their community. Volunteers can be recognised for
