Love for Australia serves families primarily in the Blacktown and Hills areas , but people travel from as far as Hurstville to access the service . The store , located opposite Bunnings in Seven Hills on Foundry Road , has become a lifeline for many .
Beyond the store , they continuously look for ways to assist the community . Over Christmas , they set up a bread cabinet outside the store , stocked with essentials like bread rolls , ham and cheese bread , and apple scrolls , and the occasional nonperishable items .
“ We wanted to ensure that anyone in need could access something simple like bread without any barriers . It might get to dinner time , and you realise you have nothing to eat or need food for the children ’ s school lunches . The bread cabinet allows for out of hours access to the basics ,” Florence told me .
Additionally , Love for Australia collaborates with other charities , such as The Care Van , by donating excess bread for their food services every Tuesday . Any bread that remains after three days and is past its best is donated to Golden Ridge Family Farm to feed their animals , ensuring nothing goes to waste .
The charity welcomes all types of support , whether in the form of product or financial donations . Donations over $ 2 are tax-deductible , making it easier for
individuals and businesses to contribute .
“ If any local businesses would like to partner with us , whether with goods or financial support , it would make a world of difference ,” they say .
Every contribution , no matter how small , helps Love for Australia continue its mission of showing love and care to the community . Whether it ’ s a single bag of groceries or financial support to cover rent and electricity , the impact is profound .
Despite the challenges , they remain optimistic and committed to serving those in need . They dream of expanding their efforts by introducing a free mobile grocery store and food truck , enabling them to reach more people in different locations . Their long-term goal is to create a nationwide network of support services that can connect struggling families with the assistance they need .
“ We believe that showing love and care through action is what makes a difference ,” they affirm .
