Ever since I became the Federal Member for Berowra I have been campaigning for better telecommunications services for our community . Access to mobile services is a right , and there are too many families and businesses that have been going without .

There have been five major flood events along the Hawkesbury River in the past two years , which has emphasised yet again the danger in not being able to contact emergency services when they are needed most .

On 16 November I was pleased to host the Shadow Minister for Communications , Senator the Hon Sarah Henderson in our community and hear real stories from real people who have been impacted by telco failures . Together , we visited residents to discuss how the telecommunications issues in their area are having ongoing , serious impacts on their quality of life .

There are many areas in the electorate still on Telstra ADSL . Poor reception and internet connection has also affected the viability of local businesses , with some GPs struggling to facilitate reliable telehealth

The visit concluded with a round table at the Glenorie RFS , as we heard stories of families who have struggled with communications , particularly during the recent bushfires and flooding events . The RFS was often without any means of communication , preventing them from contacting those at risk of flooding and hampering rescue efforts .

I was glad Shadow Minister Henderson was able to see firsthand the dangers that our community faces every day due to poor telco . I will continue to fight for better telco both in our community and across Australia .

The incredible Dauntless Movement Crew will dazzle crowds with jawdropping acrobatics , fire breathing and parkour .

There is also fun for the whole family , with Bluey and her little sister Bingo making a special appearance !

Get ready to play Magic Asparagus , Magic Xylophone , Keepy Uppy and more .

Throughout the day , loads of fun activities will keep everyone engaged with entertainment on the local stage , yard games , SES display , sand pits and amusement rides .

Entry is free and parking is available onsite . Attendees can bring a picnic or purchase food at the event .
