From bushfires to floods , the Hills-Kellyville Rotary has been making a difference to the lives of locals and residents in regional areas .
Members assisted Blaze Aid in Cobargo with bushfire recovery . They joined with Rheem Australia and Dural Men ’ s Shed to organise two loads of water heaters for the bush fire rebuild on the south coast . Turbans4Australia came to the rescue with transport and warehousing of the items .
The small club worked with the Indian Hindu community who had 60 young members from around Blacktown and Hills LGA , to reach out to the flood victims in the Hawkesbury LGA .
Volunteers cleaned up , removed bulky items , provided survival kits of essential items and food , containing essentials such as fresh fruits , canned food items as well as cleaning equipment .
The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International issued a Disaster Response grant used to purchase Bunning ’ and Woolworths ’ gift cards with 20 provided to families in need of immediate financial support . Funds raised at a Jazz at The Pines event saw $ 2000 donated to the Wisemans Ferry Men ’ s Shed , then $ 500 Woolworths ’ vouchers were given out to 25 of the most vulnerable families affected by the floods to get back on their feet .
