Last month we celebrated International Nurses Day , and whilst this important day is recognised on the day of the world ’ s most famous nurse , Florence Nightingale ’ s birthday on 9 June , Moran Kellyville chooses to not only recognise our wonderful nurses but also all team members who provide care and services to our residents .

Nelly Banag is general manager and commented ,

“ We celebrated International Nurses Day with a special morning tea for team members and residents , presenting every team member with a bright green polo shirt with the words Proud to Care 2022 on the back .”

“ We also recognised individuals who have gone above and beyond in their role through special Recognition Awards .

“ I asked my team to think about and share what being proud to care meant to them and received some great responses .”

Maria , registered nurse , “ I feel proud when a resident smiles at me and thanks me . That ’ s when I know that they appreciate the care I give and it motivates me to do my best every day .”

Chef Aaron , “ My team show their passion for caring through the meals they prepare and the interactions they have with our residents - we are very proud to care .”

Sarah is assistant care manager and said , “ I feel so proud that I work in a profession where I can make a difference in someone ’ s life . This is what motivates me to do my best as a nurse .”

Nerida is a housekeeper and commented , “ I work in the laundry and provide housekeeping services and I also have a passion for knitting and sewing . I love that I get to care in my own special way , chatting to residents when I pop their clean clothes away for them and having a natter while we have a knitting circle .”
