Police bike the beat Hills Police mountain bike squad ( pictured here recently at Rouse Hill Town Centre ) patrol their beat in a high visibility and highly mobile style .
Part of regular policing patrols in the district , bicycle officers focus on street level offences , using intelligence based methods , and are often seen as less threatening than police car patrols .
This results in more community engagement and direct contact with pedestrians and shoppers , and gives the squad nimble access to pathways and areas patrol cars can ’ t easily reach .
Purple family fun supports Relay For Life
Hills District Little Athletics is holding a fundraising Purple Family Fun Day in support of Hills Relay For Life and the Cancer Council on Sunday , 15 May .
It will be part of its presentation day , with activities including raffles - with accommodation , restaurant and food experience prizes to be won ; cake stall ; animal petting zoo ; reptile farm and a 30m ninja inflatable obstacle course .
All things will be purple – hairspray , clothes , slushies and makeup – at the A H Whaling Reserve , Baulkham Hills , venue .

Residents can also benefit by quickly checking the app themselves when wanting to engage a tradie for work around their home .

Parramatta-Baulkham Hills tramway A Journey Through Time exhibition features artefacts recovered during archaeological excavations undertaken for the Parramatta Light Rail Project pertinent to the greater Parramatta and Hills districts .
Featuring myriad finds including
Aboriginal artefacts , settlers ’ handcarved housewares , photographs and newspapers , the exhibition recounts the fascinating history of a bustling western and northwestern Sydney .
The exhibition is free and runs until 11 June 2022 at the Parramatta Heritage and Visitor Information Centre .
