What ’ s love got to do with it , lamented Tina Turner in her hit 80s single . Well , plenty in fact . Coupled with respect , support , care and hard work , loving relationships keep us connected and grounded .
Acknowledging love is so much more than just giving roses or trinkets on Valentine ’ s Day as we see in our series of love stories on P9 .
We have three wonderful couples that have shared their stories of falling in love decades ago and how they ’ ve stayed committed to each other since . Some have been cheeky telling us just how their “ spark ” ignited , while others have been a little more demure just saying “ we got on with it ”.
We have a new mayor in Dr Peter Gangemi for this coming term . Our
HDI writer Lorna Gordon interviewed him to find out more about who he is , his lifestyle and what he believes in for the community .
Many of our Shire ’ s HSC students of 2021 have shone too . Our story on P10 highlights the exceptional achievement of those who ranked highly in their chosen subjects , receiving Firsts in Course and distinguished merits .
As we know , the class of 2021 endured the full brunt of two years ’ of COVID in the most difficult of circumstances . We congratulate all those who completed their final years at school and wish them well in their future endeavours .
