Food donations are handed over to Anglicare and their Mobile Community Pantry team does the rest of the work for those in need and down at heel . We featured the Evans Street Library at Glenwood a couple of
HDI years ago and our Finest this month , p6-7 , gives an update on this amazing local venture . Jennifer Brinsden and her son Evan started the library in 2020 and it has morphed into something much bigger ! Books , DVDs and toys may still be the library ’ s staples , but Jennifer also deals with requests from schools for stationery and school uniforms amongst others . What a huge difference this small place is making .
Enjoy reading how local artist , Max Mannix , got to international fame . The small-town Victorian boy went droving from an early age and says he knew by heart all the loveable and quirky characters in each of his paintings , p9 .
