Girls’ Netball
The 2017 Netball season aptly came to an end with the Annual Turi 7s Tournament. Hillcrest was well represented by two netball teams both of which put together an impressive performance. Hillcrest A came fourth in the preliminary stages and were put in the plate competition whilst Hillcrest B came third in their pool and were entered into the main cup championships. Hillcrest B was pitted against St Andrew’ s Turi in the quarter finals match which they played extremely well, fought hard and managed a 4-7 loss which was
impressive as they were playing in a higher age group. Although they were knocked out in the quarter finals stages, I still hold it that they were a formidable side and one to watch in the future. Hillcrest A went on to play in the quarter finals of the plate championships against Turi B whom they beat 6-3; thereafter they played in the semifinals against Nairobi Academy where they won 5-4. This meant that they had qualified for the finals against Braeburn whom they beat convincingly making them the 2017 Netball Plate Competition Champions. Well done for the good team work and effort!
I would like to thank all the players for a most amazing season and for putting their best into the various matches they have played. Indeed, I look forward to greater achievements in the coming academic year.
