and the occasional wound tended to and we began to prepare our evening meal where we discovered twominute noodles were not only fast to prepare but incredibly comforting after walking such long distances .
As experienced in the preexpedition trip , we sat up by a crackling fire , listening to the wind in the trees and having hushed conversations under the broad , starry sky .
After a night of interrupted sleep , we were woken up early on Saturday morning , breaking the usual sleepin patterns of the teams ’ weekends , and began to cook breakfast before another long hike in the blistering heat . We were met by the bus at around lunchtime on Saturday and arrived back at Hillcrest on Saturday afternoon .
Overall , we had an amazing time on PA and it created a perfect environment to build character and tighten friendships . I think I speak
on behalf of most of the team when I say we had a great time and we are looking forward to more trips in the future !

The most interesting creature we found probably had to be a small crayfish as well as a few blood worms . Rain began to pour down and that was our cue to go back to the bus . This was a morning well spent !

Year 9 Biology Trip

At Brown ’ s cheese factory , we learned about how various cheeses are processed . There are varieties of intricate processes that lead to the production of your favourite mozzarella cheese ; all manner of machines will be humming in the background as milk churns and rolls into huge containers before another process begins . When a few of us tasted raw cheese , I could tell from the grimaces that it was not a relished taste . We took a tour of the factory , ending up in the freezing rooms where the cheeses were stored after production . My favourite part of the trip was when we were all allowed to make pizzas ! In groups we made dough , grated cheese and baked pizzas in large ovens . Sitting down to this wholesome meal , complete with ice cream dessert , amidst our excited chatter , I felt as if I was a part of a storybook ! I am sure that we all learnt a lot of things you might not learn from inside a classroom .
