Girls’ Basketball
The overall performance of the teams has been better than last year, with the girls showing dedication, good attitude and great sportsmanship. This in turn buoyed the teams to greater heights with remarkable performances all round.
The basketball season started with a basketball camp; the girls who turned up were thrilled to be taught basketball skills by experienced coaches from the Eagle Wings Ladies’ basketball team. The coaching stretched the girls’ skills by reinforcing body balance and ball handling drills. More rigorous training went into teamwork, both in defence and team formation. This training culminated in intense competitive matches with the coaches motivating the players and giving tips on offence and defence. Finally, the girls participated in a question and answer session in which all of their fears and doubts were allayed. It was gratifying to see their eagerness to improve their understanding of basketball. This camp was instrumental in showing the girls the right direction towards proper basketball techniques and also motivating the girls in readiness
for the season.
Many thanks go to the Eagle Wings coaches, who have always availed their time and experience over the years to coach our girls and boys.
