Kenya Secondary
Schools Sports
Association National
Games
Having competed and qualified
at the sub county, sub regional
and at the regional level, we were
privileged to have two of our prolific
swimmers as part of the thirty
swimmers representing Nairobi region.
This national event involved hockey,
basketball, rugby 7’s, hepta and deca.
Kenya is divided into eight regions and
all were well represented. In swimming,
Nairobi emerged overall winners and this
propelled the region into second place in all
sports overall. Out of the thirty swimmers
who represented Nairobi, our two swimmers
- Alexandra Kranck and Tanam Mohata were
among the fourteen who qualified to represent
Kenya in the East African Secondary Schools
Championship in Gulu - Uganda. Nairobi had the
highest qualifiers followed by Coast - 4,
Central - 3, Rift Valley - 3 and Nyanza 2.
This is how Hillcrest champions performed:
Alexandra Kranck - Gold in 50m & 100m backstroke,
4x50m medley relay with new national record in the
4x50m mixed medley relay and Silver in 50m freestyle.
Tanam Mohata - Gold in 50m breaststroke and in 4x50m
medley relay that set a new national record.
I am indeed very proud of these two swimmers for their
outstanding performance during this championship and
in their Ugandan meet.
