Once again, Hillcrest boys were able
to give a good account of themselves
in football. Unlike in previous years,
Hillcrest has gradually embraced
football as one of its key sports and
the results are slowly coming in.
The U19 boys’ football team had
a very good run in the league and
were runners up in their pool after
winning six matches in a row and
only losing twice in the process. The
team, therefore, played in the league
semi-final match but were unlucky
to lose 0-1 against Rusinga School.
The U15 boys’ football team also
played well in the league with their best performance being a 2-0 win
against St. Andrews School, Turi. The
climax of the season was during
the U14 football tournament at
International School of Kenya where
the Hillcrest team won the event in
style and they received their medals
from Olympic modern pentathlon
athletes, Ashton and Eaton. Hillcrest
hosted a very successful U15 and
U17 football tournament with the
U17 team finishing as runners up.
We are looking forward to building
on this success to make next season a
much better football season.

Kinna made one try each. Ryan
converted most of the tries for
the team making him the highest
point scorer in the team. The
team also played in the league
match against Braeburn Garden
Estate and in the St. Andrews
School, Turi 7’s, where they showcased their impressive
skills in rugby. I would like to
appreciate all the parents who
have been very supportive of the
team during anxious moments.
We look forward to another great
season of rugby.
