School and managed a 3-1 win with Ledama scoring a brace
and André also scoring from open play.
In their second league match against Rosslyn Academy, their
performance was impressive; they managed to score 7 goals
with captain Ledama scoring a hat trick and Jeremy, André and
Dilan scoring one goal each.
In the inaugural Peponi School 11’s tournament, the players
appreciated the good playing conditions: maintained pitches,
shades and refreshments. They emerged as runners-up in the
finals. The crowning moment for the boys was when they
played in the International School of Kenya (ISK) tournament

and finished top of their group after beating ISK and Braeburn
and drawing against Peponi School and Starehe boys. Meeting
seasoned players in the Lang’ata sub county championships
added another feather to their cap when they emerged top of
the league and were therefore declared new winners of the
Nairobi North regional games.
Their final display of great hockey was witnessed during our
annual Joab Omach memorial tournament which brought
together 12 teams. Hillcrest A team had a good run in the pool
stage and they emerged on top of their group. Hillcrest B team
finished second in their pool and they had to meet the A team
in the semi-final match. The B team out classed the A team in
normal play and the A team could still not find answers during
the penalty shoot outs as the B team deservedly humbled them
