Cultural Day!
With over twenty nationalities
represented in song, dance
and food, this year’s Cultural
Day was unforgettable. The
rows of stalls that packed
the Hillcrest corridors were
full of traditional foods
and snacks from different
cultures such as biltong,
dumplings and Kenyans’
66
favourite nyama choma.
Additionally, there were
traditional African fabrics
on sale as well as beautiful
henna designs which had all
the young girls and women
eagerly lining up for.
Even before the
performances had begun,
it was looking up to be an
amazing afternoon. As people
began to file in, we were
welcomed by a live band
that got everyone dancing
and moving. And then
the performances began.
With a variety of Indian,
Kenyan, South African and
Chinese dances among so
many others, everyone had
