Brown Three classics representing three great eras of American motoring history –– a 1936 Lincoln, a 1953 Corvette and a 1969 Mustang Boss 429 –– highlight the docket at Silver Auctions Arizona, January 18−21, 2018. Under new Arizona-based ownership, the event returns to the Valley at the We-Ko-Pa Resort and Conference Center at the Fort McDowell Casino, just outside of Fountain Hills off the Beeline Highway, State Route 87. Approximately 450 pre- and post-war classics have been docketed, and 8,000 attendees and 20 vendors are expected to attend. Gates open at 8 a.m. daily, with the automobilia auction at 10 a.m. followed an hour later by the car auction, which finishes up at approximately 6 p.m. daily when all cars on the day’s docket have appeared. “We plan to keep the same style of auctions that Silver has fostered over 20 years, with integrity, hon- esty and a comfortable auction setting where every- one is welcome,” says Emmett Rice, who purchased the Arizona portion of the collector car auction founded by Mitch Silver more than 40 years ago. “Our goal is to continue Mitch’s tradition of deliv- ering the highest level of customer care and ensuring that the Arizona auctions are friendly, with no stress, just fun,” he adds. Rice founded and operates Vin- tage Autohaus & Imports, a classic car dealership in Amarillo, Texas, where he has staged several collector car auctions. The 1936 Lincoln Model K V-12 Collapsible Cabriolet Landau, Model 329B by Brunn, is one of ten built, once owned by Richard T. Ringling, son of Alfred T. Ringling, one of the Ringling Bros. Circus 50 Highline Autos founders. An “original 300” with the Blue Flame 6-cylin- der, the 1953 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster has been in storage for the past two decades. Before this, the first of “America’s Sports Car” had attained “Triple Crown” status, including NCRS “Top Flight,” “PV,” and “Duntov” awards.
