Three classics representing three great eras of
American motoring history –– a 1936 Lincoln, a
1953 Corvette and a 1969 Mustang Boss 429 ––
highlight the docket at Silver Auctions Arizona,
January 18−21, 2018.
Under new Arizona-based ownership, the event
returns to the Valley at the We-Ko-Pa Resort and
Conference Center at the Fort McDowell Casino, just
outside of Fountain Hills off the Beeline Highway,
State Route 87. Approximately 450 pre- and post-war
classics have been docketed, and 8,000 attendees and
20 vendors are expected to attend.
Gates open at 8 a.m. daily, with the automobilia
auction at 10 a.m. followed an hour later by the car
auction, which finishes up at approximately 6 p.m.
daily when all cars on the day’s docket have appeared.
“We plan to keep the same style of auctions that
Silver has fostered over 20 years, with integrity, hon-
esty and a comfortable auction setting where every-
one is welcome,” says Emmett Rice, who purchased
the Arizona portion of the collector car auction founded
by Mitch Silver more than 40 years ago.
“Our goal is to continue Mitch’s tradition of deliv-
ering the highest level of customer care and ensuring
that the Arizona auctions are friendly, with no stress,
just fun,” he adds. Rice founded and operates Vin-
tage Autohaus & Imports, a classic car dealership in
Amarillo, Texas, where he has staged several collector
car auctions.
