Offering pre-war classics to today’ s supercars, the 47th annual edition of Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction returns January 13 – 21, 2018, to WestWorld of Scottsdale, just off the Loop 101.
Among the more than 1,600 docketed vehicles, most to be offered at no reserve, are stellar cars such as a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429; 1934 Packard 1101 Cabriolet; 1963 Chevrolet Corvette LS3 Custom Convertible; 1966 Ford Shelby GT350 001; 1937 Rolls-Royce Phantom III – Copper car; and a 1951 Talbot-Lago T-26 Grand Sport Saoutchik Coupe.
The charity cars include a 2017 Ford GT, donated by Valley businessman Ron Pratte to the Evernham Family-Racing for a Reason Foundation, which will sell the car to benefit the Autism Society of North Carolina’ s IGNITE program, assisting young adults with high-functioning autism or Asperger’ s Syndrome.
More than 300,000 bidders, consignors and car lovers as well as 250 vendors and sponsors are expected for nine days of automotive festivities. Preview days are January 13 and 14, beginning at 8 a. m. The Automobilia Auction is January 15 and 16, 9 a. m. to 2 p. m.; January 17 – 20, 8:30 – 10 a. m.; and January 21, 8:30 – 11 a. m. The Vehicle Auction takes place January 15 and 16, 2 p. m. to close; January 17 – 20, 10 a. m. to close; and January 21, 11 a. m. to close.

Special events, seminars and sponsor involvement begin January 13 with the QuikTrip Family Value Day( children 12 and under free). The Opening Night Gala, January 14, 7 – 11 p. m., will welcome invited guests. On January 13 and 14, Dodge Thrill Rides are scheduled at 9 a. m., followed by the Monster Energy Motorcycle Drifting Exhibition, 11 a. m.– 2 p. m.
From January 15 through the 19, 9 – 11 a. m.,“ Behind the Hobby” Collector Car Symposiums presented by American Car Collector take place in the Equidome, and Ford and Chevrolet have scheduled the popular Ride’ N Drives and Dodge Thrill Rides, all beginning at 9 a. m., January 15 – 21.
Both the Boss 429 and the Packard have received concours restorations, the Rolls-Royce is one of ten cars bodied by coachbuilder W. S. Atcherley for the marque, and the Talbot-Lago has distinguished coachwork by Jacques Saoutchik.
A custom Resto-Rod, the Vette carries a 6.2-liter 8-cylinder LS3 engine, and the Ford Shelby is number 001, the very first 1966 Shelby GT 350 built.
