Mel Wathen - Emcee
Mel “ Mouse ” Wathen was born and raised on a farm in Dale , Indiana . She joined the Air Force to see the world and after serving six years , she hung up her active-duty hat to take on a new role as Military Spouse .
As a Military Spouse , she knows the importance of getting involved in her community and has tried to live as an example to her children . With every move , she would always look for a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Troop to help her kids start meeting new friends and to continue serving in their community . Jacob is an Eagle Scout and Veronica is a Silver Award Recipient and Gold Award Candidate . Mel serves as Southgansett Service Unit Fall Product Coordinator and Public Relations Coordinator . You can also find her at Camp Hoffman as Camp Host and Museum Docent .
As a Lifetime Member , Girl Scouts has given her many opportunities to make many memories , meet wonderful
families , adult volunteers , and friends for a lifetime .

MUCM Erin Horn - Keynote Speaker
Master Chief Musician Erin Horn is a native of Norwood , NY and enlisted in the Navy as a Musician in 1997 . She served as clarinet instrumentalist with Navy Band Great Lakes , SIXTH Fleet Band , AFSOUTH Band , Navy Band Mid-South , U . S . Fleet Forces Band , and U . S . Naval Forces Europe Band . She also served as Musician Audition Supervisor at Navy Personnel
Command . MUCM Horn is a graduate of the Unit Leader and Senior Musician Courses with the Naval School of Music , the Senior Enlisted Academy ( class 129 ), and Command Master Chief course in 2022 . She was selected for Chief Petty Officer in 2012 .
As a CPO , she served tours as Leading Chief Petty Officer with Navy Band Mid-South , U . S . Fleet Forces Band , and U . S . Naval Forces Europe-Africa Band . She is currently serving as Assistant Director / Senior Enlisted Leader for Navy Band Northeast since August 2020 .
